Bacillus is a stick insect with a normal habitus.
This genus inhabits dry areas. They can be found on their forage crops, but also in bushes, grass or at the bottom.
At present, at least 9 species are described, e.g. Bacillus atticus (WATTENWYL, 1882), B. grandii (NASCETTI & BULLINI, 1984), Bacillus rhodius (MARESCALCHI, CORNI & SCALI, 1985) and B. rossius (ROSSI, 1788). Typical look of the nymphs:
