Lonchodes are middle- sized stick insects. This genus has a joint at its cervix and at the central legs, which can flex 90° (looks like a "Z").
At present, at least 10 species are described, e.g. Lonchodes harmani (BRAGG & CHAN, 1993), L. imitator (BRUNNER VON WATTENWYL, 1907) and L. modestus (BRUNNER VON WATTENWYL, 1907). Typical look of the nymphs:
